Boxing is definitely one of the best ways to stay and get in shape, even if you work out alone; there are multiple ways of building strength and endurance with good boxing equipment. Working out with boxing equipment is simple, either using a normal clock or a stop watch; you can build up round lengths on the bag, making sure to warm up first. Warming up can be done with a jump rope, which has the added benefit of teaching rhythm and timing.
Building up to do several 3 minute rounds or longer taking one or two minute breaks between rounds.
Punching can release a ton of tension, so can be great for relieving stress and aggression.
